Workforce Development

 

 
SET is an environmental workforce development and job training program funded by the Environmental Protection Agency. The purpose of the SET program is to help unemployed and under-employed residents in Charlotte, NC gain skills and qualifications to secure employment in the environmental workforce. Over the course of 6-weeks, participants are exposed to instructional learning, hands-on activities, and simulated demonstrations to obtain a variety of professional credentials relevant to the environmental field. After completing the program and passing a physical exam, graduates engage with environmental staffing agencies and local employers for job placement opportunities.

Asbestos Worker/Handler State Accreditation (License): NC, SC, VA, TN
OSHA Confined Space Entry National Certification
Soil & Groundwater Sampling Certificate of Completion
Pest Management Control CEU

 

Eligibility

  • US Citizen
  • Age: 18+ yrs.
  • Low Income individual
  • Pass a drug test
  • H.S. diploma or GED
  • Posses a valid driver’s license (preferred)
